Following their 1-2 performance in the 800 yesterday, Brooke and Blaire Dinsdale of Traer, Iowa repeated with a 1-2 showing in the Intermediate Girls 1500 on Thursday. Brooke ran a 4:37.20 while Blaire was clocked in 4:37.85.Razor-thin finish
In what has to be the closest finish on the track this year, the Midget Girls 80 meter hurdles was decided by a slim four one-thousandths of a second. Shantyra Delaney of Knoxville, Tenn. was the winner in 12.436, while Teaunna Cuthbertson of Salisbury, N.C. ran a 12.440. Khajida Stuckey of Fort Hood, Texas was a very close third in a 12.45.Locals report:

Michelle Borque took home all the events for the Optionals Level 8L competition on Wednesday. She scored a 8.775 on the vault, 9.400 on the bars, 9.000 on the beam and a 9.600 on the floor for an overall 36.775 score and the all-events title.BASEBALL
Championship bracket play commenced on Thursday in both the 12U and 16U tournaments. In the 12U, the local Tidewater Drillers knocked off the powerful Puerto Rico Panteras 1-0 in a first round matchup at Stoney Run Complex in Newport News. The Panteras ran roughshod through the brackets earlier winning by nearly eight runs per game.
In the 16U, East Cobb Astros advanced to a semifinal matchup with the Brentwood A's as both won first round games 13-1. In the other semfinal, the Kentucky Baseball Club will face Tri-State Arsenal.
